The ADM informed that nodal officers have been appointed at the tehsil level to register and prioritize the redressal of problems faced by ex-servicemen and their families. During the meeting, ex-servicemen organizations raised the issue of maintenance of memorial gates built in the memory of martyrs across the district. They demanded that the responsibility for upkeep be handed over to municipal bodies and panchayats. On this, the ADM directed the District Sainik Welfare Officer to prepare and present a detailed action plan.

The organizations also requested that free land be allocated in each block for the construction of “Sainik Milan Kendras” (ex-servicemen community centers) for meetings and events. The ADM instructed the concerned officer to draft a proposal and forward it to the government through the District Magistrate. He also said that alternative arrangements for meetings and programs will be made by providing auditoriums through SDMs and BDOs.
Concerns were raised about the challenges faced in arms license renewals and transfers from other states. The ADM directed the District Sainik Welfare Officer to prepare a block-wise list regarding arms license renewals and transfers so that district-level action can be taken for resolution.
Ex-servicemen also pointed out that due to lack of awareness, bank loans are sometimes sanctioned on unregistered land purchases, and demanded a stop to this practice. The ADM instructed the Lead Bank Officer to ensure that all banks verify land ownership before sanctioning loans.
A request was also made to allocate land near the under-construction AIIMS in Kichha for building a Sainik Rest House. The ADM asked the District Sainik Welfare Officer to prepare a proposal in this regard.
The meeting was attended by District Sainik Welfare Officer Colonel CP Kothari, CO RD Mathpal, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Abhay Saxena, General Manager Industries Vipin Kumar, Executive Engineer Electricity Umakant Chaturvedi, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Raju Nabiyal, Retd. Lt. Col.
